The Consent Project

Who are we? We're a dynamic collective of University of Twente students, driven to catalyze positive change within our campus. With a clear objective in mind, our mission is to raise awareness on consent and boundaries. Together we join our voices to amplify crucial discussions, on both consent and boundaries, that tend to be overlooked. We are a deeply committed group of women in their twenties hoping to shed light on the importance of respecting boundaries for the safety and well-being of all.

We chose consent and boundaries because they're vital for everyone. Our objective is to provide guidance on how to navigate these areas in various relationships and situations; with strangers, with close relationships, and with ourselves. We'll offer practical advice on establishing boundaries respectfully and assertively. By cultivating a space to discuss these taboo topics, individuals on campus will hopefully be empowered to prioritize their safety and well-being while fostering healthy interactions with others. Additionally, the target audience we aim for are young adults who struggle with discussions on boundaries and strive to make space for open communication. We want our audience to feel empowered, enlightened, and engaged.

On the first week back, we came together to join our ideas and reformulate our mind map (in order to also include the ideas of the members who were not present in the last get-together). Then we divided tasks for research according to what each member felt most comfortable with digging deeper into. Finally, we carried out our own research and put together everything we found in the form of interactive presentations. Using each presentation, we shared our newfound knowledge with each other. Our next step is to begin brainstorming types of products we would like to deliver, for example on campus workshops.
